Hello folks, over the third month in help desk we have been continuing our expansion of knowledge about technology to a newer degree. We have been learning multiple new systems of code/programming and using them in class. For instance, as I mentioned before, about AWS Educate and Unity It was extremely entertaining to choose some of what we did best and put it towards teaching our classmates. As you all probably knew, this past week was Hour Of Code week. I hope everyone was able to learn something fascinating from my fellow BHS Help Desk students and most importantly had fun. Most people were flying the drones in the upper library and having fun with beating aliens on virtual reality Halo(my personal favorite!). I thought that the most interesting coding system we worked on was Circuit Playground Express, which is what I taught students throughout the course of the week. Check out my mini-slideshow presentation I put together for it here: https://bit.ly/2UGeExP
Circuit Playground has many great features that make it fun to use, including mini neo-pixels that illuminate to any rainbow color, an accelerometer, a light sensor, and a temperature detector. My personal favorite to show to folks was one utilizing the light sensor. My code consisted of an input function that lit the Circuit Playground board up to blue and red pixels solely and played a siren to symbolize the police!
